Job offer: Data Scientist – Deep learning on music

Musimap is a B2B cognitive music intelligence company with the mission to empower companies and music users to enjoy music like never before. Our aim is to unleash music consumption through personalized music recommendation and innovative discovery tools. Musimap has developed a humanized semi-automated AI-based technology that enables emotion-sensitive music search and navigation through a granular database of 35 million tracks, 400 genres, 400 moods and 11,000 keywords.

We are looking for passionate, self-driven and eager minds to come work with us in a setting outside the ordinary. We are currently looking for a Data Scientist in the area of Deep Learning on Music to:

  • Research the state of the art machine learning and deep learning techniques in the field of music analysis
  • Prototype new algorithms with state of the art machine / deep learning frameworks in Python
  • Coordinate with a team of musicologists on the creation of an expert knowledge-base
  • Work on problems such as style analysis, mood analysis, vocal analysis, recommendation, etc
  • Implement working and scalable systems for large-scale audio and data analysis
  • Collaborate with the CTO, developers and other data scientists on product rollout
  • Help planning research, analysis and product roadmap

As an ideal candidate you have:

  • Graduate degree (MSc / PhD) in Computer Science, Music Informatics, Mathematics or related fields
  • Experience in machine learning and deep learning (ideally in the field of audio/music/DSP)
  • Good knowledge of Python and relevant frameworks (such as scikit-learn, Theano, Tensorflow, Keras,…)
  • Good programming skills and good documentation skills
  • Goal driven and product-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work independently, but also as a good team-worker
  • Proficiency in English (French is welcomed!)
  • Ideally experience in music analysis and/or digital signal processing
